DK’s house

Arjun is at his house. He gets a phone call. Arjun picks it up.

Manjusha says where did this girl go, where will I look for her? Punni comes in the room. Manjusha sees Punni coming in to the room. Manjusha goes over to Punni.
Manjusha: Where did you go? Yesterday, your father forbid you from going outside the house, and you did not listen to him and went out? I was looking for you everywhere.
Punni: aai, I was at home taking a shower. Manjusha puts her hand to her head says oh gosh.
Manjusha: So much has happened and you still haven’t stopped lying? I checked your washroom, and you were not there.
Punni: Yes aai, I was in the hall washroom as my shower was not working. Aai, I’m honest, I did not leave the house, I promise. Manav and Archana are both at their own homes. They are looking at a frame with some words on it. They both turn on their radio and they listen to a story. Both of them close their eyes.. Manav opens his eyes and he puts the frame back on the table.

Karanjkar House

Sulochana is sitting down on the couch. Archana comes in the room and she lays down on her mother’s lap.
Sulochana: What happened Archu? Are you not tired? Do you remember Archu, in your childhood times, when you were not tired you used to come to me just like this. You used to lie down on my lap and says to me, that all of my worries are gone and now I can go to sleep peacefully. Do you remember that? Nothing has changed, you have not changed, I have not changed and neither has our life changed.
Archana: You’re right aai, nothing has changed. You still love me the way you did before, you are right, when I lie down on your lap I lose all of my worries but aai, I don’t know I feel strange today. I feel like something is about to happen.
Sulochana: Why do you say that Archu? Archana sits up.
Archana: aai, I don’t know why I feel it, it may be something good but it could be something wrong as well. The phone rings. Archana is about to pick it up when Purvi picks it up.

Karanjkar House in the bedroom

Purvi picks up the phone.
Purvi: Hello. Yes sir. What? Purvi is happy.
Purvi: Are our new owners of the company coming tomorrow? Ok sir, I will reach there on time, good night sir.

Karanjkar House

Purvi comes to the main room where her mother and grandmother are at.
Purvi: aai, I just got a phone call from Mr. Agarwal and he was saying that the new owner of the company is coming tomorrow. See aai, everything is happening because of my fax, everything will be ok.
Archana: I hope God makes everything ok. Aai, the first thing I will do tomorrow is go to the temple and pray to God that all of us get to keep our job.

At an airport in India

An airplane is about to land at an airport in India. The airplane has landed. Manav gets out of the airplane and goes inside to the airport with his bag. Manav has stopped to get his bag checked and now he is outside. Manav thinks to himself, I have now gotten to breathe my home country’s air, it has been so many years since I came here but no, it sounds like I never went far away from here.

Outside an airport

A driver comes to Manav.
The driver: Excuse me, are you Manav Deshmukh?
Manav: Yes.
The driver: Sir, come in the car, I have come to pick you up. The driver takes Manav’s bag and puts it in the car. Manav and the driver leave in the car. Manav is looking around at the view of India. Manav thinks to himself, everything has changed in the past 18 years but this city has not changed at all, it’s just like the way it was before. Manav thinks, I came here for business and this place is looking very familiar to me. The car stops. A young boy(probably about five or six years old) comes to the car to Manv. The window is open.
The boy: Uncle, I haven’t eaten anything for the past two days, please give me some money, I am very hungry. Manav lovingly strokes the little boy and gives him some money. Manav smiles.

Karanjkar House in the bedroom

Purvi is sleeping. Archana is up and she is calling Purvi to wake up as we are getting late. Archana shakes Puriv and warns her that we will be late to work and since the new boss is coming, we will be scolded for coming late. Purvi wakes up and sits up.
Purvi: aai, couldn’t you have woke me up earlier? Because of you, I will be late.
Archana: Oh, you will be late because of me? Ok, I am going to the temple, you go straight to the office and I will come to the office. Archana leaves. Purvi is scared because since the new boss is coming, she will be scolded for coming late.

In the car

Manav is in the car. He thinks to himself, I am coming to India after so many years. I am going to final a big deal, how about I go the temple today and pray to God?
Manav: Driver, do you know the way to the temple?
The driver: Yes sir, I know.
Manav: Ok, we will go there first.
The driver: Ok sir. The car stops at a place as it had broken down a little. The driver gets out of his car and opens the front part of the car to see the problem. Manav gets out of his car to see what happened.

Outside

Manav: Driver, what happened?
The driver: Sir, the car has broken down.
Manav: How long will it take for the car to get fixed?
The driver: I will order a new car for you.
Manav: No, don’t order a new car, I will go by train.
The driver: Sir, will you go by train?
Manav: Yes, don’t worry. I have travelled on a train before. As soon as you get the car fixed, call me and I will call you to come to where I am at.
The driver: Yes, ok sir. Manav leaves. He is going up a ramp to a train station. Manav has reached up to the train station.

Precap: People are at a temple. Archana and Manav are both standing pretty close to one another and they are both doing their prayer. They are both looking in front of them and they can’t see each other.
