A multi-generation romantic comedy ‘Dil Deke Dekho’on SAB TV

Indian television has seen numerous stories that capture different elements of love and its ever-changing dynamics. Adding a dash of melody and loads of comedy, Sony SAB presents a new series, ‘Dil De Ke Dekho’, which captures the struggles of love-struck couples from three generations. The show will see an interesting ensemble cast, comprising Kanwaljit Singh, Navneet Nishan, Amit Tandon, Preet Kaur, Abhishek Bajaj and Anju Jadhav.
Set in Delhi, ‘Dil De Ke Dekho’ is the story of two families — the Shastris and the Chopras — who are neighbours. Coincidentally, the singles from each family find a love interest in the opposite’s house. The show will present a unique facet of love — how each generation struggles with it and how they perceive and interpret it.
The oldest character Hridayanath Shastri, played by Kanwaljit, is a widower who tries to woo his neighbour Tulsi Chopra (Navneet Nishan), an ex-stuntwoman from Bollywood. On the other hand, the middle-aged couple Simran Shastri, played by Preet Kaur, and Kamal Chopra, essayed by Amit Tandon, spent their heydays in search of their respective soulmates without realising that their true love is right next door. Meanwhile, the grandchildren — Rahul Shastri and Preet Chopra— who comprise generation Y and are the youngest in both the families have a different and modern take on love altogether. Says Anooj Kapoor, Senior EVP and Business Head of the channel, “The show highlights the struggles of the three couples in their attempt to pursue love and how they get entangled in whimsical, yet comical circumstances each time. Amidst the current scenario of increasing distrust and cynicism about pursuing emotionally demanding relationships, we want viewers to come with an open mind and heart and give love a chance.”
‘Dil De Ke Dekho’ premieres tonight and will air Monday – Friday at 10.30 pm on Sony SAB.
