Winners Of Star Guild Awards 2015

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor took top honours at the Star Guild Awards 2015 (also known as the Apsara Awards) held in Mumbai on Sunday, January 11. Shahid Kapoor was adjudged the Best Actor for the film Haider by the producers’ guild. He beat veterans like Shah Rukh Khan (Happy New Year) and Aamir Khan (PK), and also younger nominees like Arjun Kapoor (2 States), Varun Dhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), Randeep Hooda (Highway) and Rajkummar Rao (CityLights).

Priyanka Chopra won Best Actress for Mary Kom, beating veteran Rani Mukerji (Mardaani) as also her arch-rivals Kangana Ranaut (Queen), Anushka Sharma (PK), Alia Bhatt (2 States and Highway), and also her B-town best friend Deepika Padukone (Happy New Year). Priyanka Chopra also won the Hindustan Times Celebrity for a Cause award while Deepika Padukone got the Entertainer of the Year prize.

Aamir Khan’s movie PK bagged the Best Film award, along with Best Director for Rajkumar Hirani, as well as three other trophies – Best Dialogue, Best Sound Mixing and Special Award for ‘More Than 100 Crore Film’. Kangana Ranaut’s film Queen also won some awards, including Best Editing for Anurag Kashyap and Abhijit Kokate.

Actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by his superstar son Hrithik Roshan at the Star Guild Awards 2015.

In Television, the Star Guild Awards 2015 Best Actor trophy was shared by Ronit Roy (Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar) and Mohit Raina (Devo Ke Dev Mahadev). The Best Actress went to Deepika Singh (Diya Aur Baati Hum). Kapil Sharma’s popular show Comedy Nights with Kapil received the trophy for Best Non-Fiction Series, among other awards.
